Haile Gold Mine extended its gratitude to current and former service members on November 9 by serving approximately 225 meals in honor of Veterans Day. The annual tradition, now in its third year at Haile, recognizes those who have dedicated their lives to serving the nation.
Haile purchased Chick-Fil-A boxed lunches and handed them out drive-through style to community veterans at the Haile Gold Mine Depot in town. Haile’s management team also presented meals to their employees. About 13 percent of the mine’s workforce have served or are currently serving.
“Honoring our veterans is a privilege,” OceanaGold Chief Operating Officer Americas, David Londono said. “Sharing a meal is a small gesture compared to their sacrifices, but I hope it demonstrates the respect and appreciation we have for these individuals.”
As the Haile Gold Mine continues to host this meaningful event, it demonstrates the commitment to honoring and cherishing the contributions of veterans. Beyond the meals, it is a heartfelt expression of gratitude that echoes across around operation and throughout the community.
