Community Relations Coordinator Beverly Adams has built a reputation at Haile Gold Mine for always being helpful and consistently attending to the site’s needs. During the March 22 Kershaw Chamber of Commerce Banquet, she was honored with the annual President’s Award for displaying the very same qualities in the community.
The Chamber of Commerce Banquet, held at the Kershaw Country Club, was attended by members of the chamber, community leaders, and town government officials. Former South Carolina Senator Vincent Sheheen was also the evening’s guest speaker.
The President’s Award, selected by Chamber President Sheila Hinson, is awarded to the person who is most helpful to the chamber president during the year. Hinson said after substantial prayer, the recipient was very obvious.
“After praying, it was just as clear as can be. Beverly is always so attentive to our needs. She’s always on the ball to help us in any way she can,” she said.
The President’s Award has been awarded annually during the chamber banquet for more than 15 years to the person who supports the president’s objectives. The recipient is someone willing to volunteer their time and efforts to assist in the organizing and planning of activities.
“She’s always been the most accommodating person, and that’s exactly the kind of person we need to be a part of the chamber,” Hinson said.
Adams, who has been a Chamber of Commerce volunteer since 2017, said receiving the award was “humbling and exciting.”
“I’m just very thankful and appreciative to be recognized,” she said.
