Chick-Fil-A boxed lunches were provided to more than 40 day shift employees in honor of their service. The recognition was organized to allow each veteran to receive the lunch and a special thank you from the manager, superintendent, or supervisor delivering the food. Employees working night shift or otherwise offsite on Nov. 11 were provided vouchers to enjoy a lunch at their convenience.

Haile Gold Mine Executive General Manager David Londono shared appreciation for the operation’s former and active-duty service members in a note attached to the employee lunches.

“Haile Gold Mine is thankful for all veterans for their brave service and honorable sacrifices. We are especially thankful to the service men and women of Haile. Thank you for performing the duties you were called to so that we may freely and safely live and work. We proudly honor you, today,” the note read.

Haile also expressed gratitude to Kershaw’s community of veterans. Drive-in style lunches were provided at the Haile Gold Mine Depot to local veterans and their families as a way to say thanks for their honorable service. South Carolina Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve State Chair Jennifer Harding also volunteered to help give out meals at the depot.

All total, Haile provided 300 meals to employees and veterans in the community.
